Weekend Getaway

St. Pete, Florida was a perfect weekend getaway. There was plenty to do and we did not leave feeling as if we had missed out on anything. *Before leaving for your trip be sure to have an idea of the activities you would like to do while you are there. We had picked out restaurants, beaches, and moped rentals!

Day One: We left Michigan in the early morning on Friday to land in Tampa, FL by 11:30am. We had already scheduled the car and hotel so we just needed to wait in the line to pick up the vehicle. We booked our trip before realizing it was Memorial Day weekend so it was PACKED!

My favorite restaurant experience was eating at the delicious 400 Beach Seafood & Tap House. Not only are the drinks and food delicious but there are great views. We rented mopeds to ride around downtown St. Pete. We also road to a couple parks and to the St. Pete Pier which would be absolutely perfect for a small family. There is a splash pad, beach, and a food stand with yummy fresh lemonade.

Day Two: There are so many beaches and beach access points to choose from but our biggest hurtle was trying to find parking (Memorial weekend is busy.) We ended up finding a space to park at the St. Pete Beach and rented lounge chairs with an umbrella. I was sure to bring a long a book to stay entertained while reducing my screen time. Obviously the beach had its views and relaxing lulls of crashing waves which really spark the imagination to get completely lost in a good book! For the day we had our fill of salt water and white sand.

Day Three: We had a cozy morning grabbing Starbucks from the hotel lobby barista and spent midday relaxing poolside to soak in a bit more sunshine since our flight was delayed. As large as Tampa airport is the signs make it fairly easy to navigate through the process of rental car return, shuttle train to gates, and through security.

*Other area options include Dolphin tours, Manatee tours, Sunset Cruise, and an array of different beaches and restaurants.
